1. Determine and Arrange to Interact with
the Evaluation's Stakeholders

2. Staff the Metaevaluation with One or
More Qualified Metaevaluators

3. Define the Metaevaluation Questions

4. As Appropriate, agree on Standards, Principles,
and/or Criteria to Judge the Evaluation System
or Particular Evaluation

5. Issue a Memo of Understanding or Negotiate
a Formal Metaevaluation Contract
|
6. Collect and Review Pertinent Available
Information
|
7. Collect New Information as Needed, Including,
for Example, On-Site Interviews, Observations
and Surveys
|
8. Analyze the Findings
|
9. Judge the Evaluation's Adherence to the
Selected Evaluation Standards, Principles,
and/or other criteria
|
10. Prepare and Submit the Needed Reports

11. As Appropriate, Help the Client and
Other Stakeholders Interpret and Apply the
Findings

| 1. Divide into 4 groups
2. Read "The
Impact of Portable Technologies on Teaching
and Learning Year Four Report"
3. Conduct a mini-metaevaluation of the evaluation
using the Program Evaluation Metaevaluation
Checklist provided. Each group will be assigned
to evaluate one aspect of the report using either
the utility, feasibility, propriety or accuracy
standard.
4. Report your findings to the class. |
